Design based on a hand-made Celestial Ragdoll that I designed some years ago.
Option to stitch with or without the intricate blackstitch design on dress/rag ties.

Fabric: 32 ct Natural Brown Linen by: www.wicheltimports.com (16 ct Amber Aida may be substituted)
Design stitched 2 over 2 threads on Linen (or over 1 square on Aida)
DMC Floss provided by The DMC Corporation www.dmc.com
Fabric Cut Size: Allow 3 inches extra on all sides for framing/finishing (this will add 6" total to your width and height)
98 wide x 148 height
28 ct Linen (14 ct Aida) – 7 inches wide x 10 5/8 inches height
32 ct Linen (16 ct Aida) – 6 1/8 inches wide x 9 1/4 inches height
3/4 Cross Stitch

Modern Blackwork is usually worked as a backstitch, which I prefer. Much easier.
Long ago, Blackwork was done to look the same on both front and back of clothing and used the Holbein Stitch Or Double Running Stitch.
