Looking for something to do on a rainy day like today? Our new exhibition is open, 11am to 4pm! Find us on the Connecticut (CT) Art Trail at Fairfield University.

In the Bellarmine Hall Galleries, you’ll find “In Real Times. Arthur Szyk: Artist and Soldier for Human Rights,” featuring 50 original artworks by the Polish Jewish book illustrator, political cartoonist, and human rights advocate Arthur Szyk. He became best known in America for his anti-Nazi cartoons in the 1940s, which appeared on the cover of magazines like Collier’s and Time.

In our Walsh Gallery, you’ll find “Szyk: the Interactive Experience,” where you can watch videos about the artist’s life, cozy up in our reading nook, or use our workstations to explore his work in high-res and create some of your own.

Join Patricia E. Kane, Friends of American Arts Curator of American Decorative Arts at the Yale University Art Gallery, for the next part of our 2023 Fall Speaker Series this Sunday, October 1! The talk “Mary Fish Silliman: A Woman in Revolutionary America” will be from 1-2:30 pm in our meeting hall.

Discover Mary’s world from her education in Stonington, CT in the 1740s to her first marriage to John Noyes in New Haven in the 1750s to her second marriage to Gold Selleck Silliman in Fairfield in the 1770s. Letters, a journal, a reminiscence, and material possessions provide unusually rich documentation of Mary’s life.
