Pleased to run the 1934 SS1 Tourer in the 2023 Vintage Charity Rally!! Covering over 200 miles from beginning to the end of the day, the SS1 ran like a top amongst other wonderful automobiles driven by many friends!! #simkomotorcars

The Vintage Charity Rally; Weekend of July 15th, 2023 – Was based in Lakeville CT with drives to Saratoga Auto Museum (James Bond exhibit) and to a wonderful Brass era and Pre-WWII collection in Fairfield County. The charities are an animal rescue in Cornwall CT and a food bank, also in Litchfield County.

There were certain challenges – mostly encountering changing road conditions – encountered due to road construction and especially due to extremes of weather. To their credit ‘Seldom was heard, A discouraging word ’ Those who did not have other commitments later on Sunday traveled with a smile – (Saturday was the LONG Day & Sunday the WET Day) – A little taste of mostly day one.

One last Father’s Day thought…

Stephen A. Simko passed the virtues of integrity, honesty, hard work, and class down through the generations.

The first antique Bentley I ever drove, I owned… I credit this to Grandfather’s virtues and work ethic.

Once said to me: “Your Grandfather was a very hard man, but a fair man” to work for…

-Vice President of Ducci Electrical Contractors (CT), and later becoming… (1940-1973 approximately)

-President of Eastern Electric Construction Co. Inc. (CT). A company that would involve two further generations of Simko’s, and impact my life forever. (1973-retirement)

I have a long way to go… #simkomotorcars
