Grace Epstein Paintings and Pottery

Grace Epstein’s ceramic work is a mix of functional ceramics, challenging techniques and a little personal expression. Most of the pieces have surfaces that have been textured with fabric or stamps. She explores the use of stains to color the clay in lieu of relying on glazes. She also enjoys the simplicity of making simple bowls enhanced with a splash of unusual glazes. In addition to the functional work some work is designed for the child in all of us; there are mini, doll sized bowls and unusual figures called Marvin and Company.
