Willimantic Latino Lions Club
The Willimantic Latino Lions Club is part of Lions International which has been around for over 100 years. With every project completed and each person served, we continue to make history.
The Willimantic Latino Lions club is a specialty club that is dedicated on engaging the Latino population by creating a sense of community, belonging, and professional validation within a larger organization. The club provides a dedicated space for cultural expression, mentorship, and advocacy, culturally relevant environment for service. The club allows members to share a common culture, language, and passion, while leveraging the international reputation of Lions Clubs to serve our community needs by promoting our motto “We serve” that is more than just a motto. It’s a way of life for Lions and reflects our mission to the world.
The Willimantic Latino Lions Club rely on both dedicated volunteers, manpower and donations, including in-kind gifts to support our initiatives. The club focuses on community service, like supporting vision and hearing impairment, hunger relief, environmental cleanup, and childhood cancer initiatives. Key programs include KidSight vision screenings for children, collecting used eyeglasses, Hearing Aids, Diabetes and Cancer Awareness walks, food drives, and youth mentoring, and Special initiatives as they may arise.
The Willimantic Latino Lions Club Members meets on the 1st Thursday of every Month at 6:30 PM at Windham Hospital – SHEA. Lions clubs are groups of caring men and women who identify needs within their communities and work together to fulfill those needs.
Membership one-time Application Fee $35.00 Annual Membership $75 year
