Gift Shops on the Shore of CT
Jul 7

Are you headed to the Connecticut coast this summer? If so, you’ll want to shop locally to pick up unique souvenirs for family and friends. Here are two coastal towns we love and the unique gift shops on the shore of CT that make them even better.

Westport

Situated on the Long Island Sound in Fairfield County, Connecticut, Westport boasts stunning coastal views, picturesque beaches, and scenic landscapes. Boating, fishing, hiking, biking, and other recreational pursuits keep both locals and visitors busy in the summer. Moreover, this town has a thriving artistic scene that hosts numerous art galleries and shops.

Savvy + Grace

This boutique store is located right on Main Street and offers clothing, accessories, gifts, and town merchandise. It’s the best place for finding novelty souvenirs such as Wesport cheese boards and Nautical napkins featuring maps of Wesport on them. They even gift wrap right at the store for free!

Coco and Company

Minutes outside of Westport, in the seaside town of Southport, you’ll find Coco and Company. This company aims to inspire celebration through color, playful designs, and a touch of artful lifestyle. Everything in the store is designed to be lived in, loved, and shared over a lifetime. Their offerings include a continuously edited selection of clothing, accessories, and decor. Check them out at 3310 Post Road Southport, CT next time you are in the area!

Mystic

Mystic is located on the Connecticut shoreline, and has access to stunning coastal scenery. The area features charming beaches, picturesque coves, and tranquil nature reserves. Mystic’s vibrant downtown has charming shops that you’ll love to explore. We recommend checking out Mystic Knotwork and Franklin’s General Store.

Mystic Knotwork

Mystic Knotwork is owned by the Beaudoin family, who have been the source for nautical knots throughout New England for over 50 years. Their mission is to keep the nautical knotwork tradition alive. Their shop offers home décor, jewelry, accessories, and even pet toys. It’s a must-see shop housing some of the most impressive and unique art in Mystic.

Franklin’s General Store

This quaint New England General Store will have you feeling like you’ve just stepped back in time upon entering. You’ll enjoy the aroma of their award-winning chocolate fudge cooking in the kettle as you enjoy browsing books, stacks of puzzles, wooden toys, and cutting boards. There is something here for the whole family to enjoy!

Wherever you may venture this summer, remember the power of shopping locally. Local businesses offer unique products and services that larger chain stores do not. They are more likely to carry locally made or handcrafted items, providing customers with a more personalized and authentic shopping experience. Plus, by supporting local businesses, you support the local economy and build up the community!
